You’ve probably seen the emails that my 4th Reverse Alzheimer’s Summit that starts this week. It is so important that we all have access to learn about how to prevent and reverse dementia and Alzheimer’s naturally. It’s my life’s mission to bring you this information.
At the start of this year Biogen announced it is pulling the new Alzheimer’s drug Aduhelm off the market. Approval of this drug had some controversy. The expert panel recommended that the FDA deny its approval. The FDA did approve it in 2021 with the requirement that more research would be done by 2030, but Biogen has struggled to find funding for these studies.
Leqembi, approved by the FDA in 2023, is still available. This drug doesn’t stop the progression of the disease nor reverse cognitive decline. It only slows the progression by 27%. In addition, it comes with warnings of brain swelling and brain bleeding.
Donanemab is another drug that focuses solely on slowing the progression of the disease – not reversal. It was expected to be approved by the FDA this month, but the FDA announced in early March that it will unexpectedly be bringing in a panel of experts to further scrutinize the drug.
This news can seem so despairing, but there is hope. There is more than hope, there are evidence-based methods. My clinical trial was published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease last August. It documents the positive results of my protocol where 73.9% of trial participants improved. Something that neither of those drugs can do.
Watch this:
You can watch this interview I did with my summit co-host and mentor, Dr. Dale Bredesen and Dr. Ram Rao where we have an in-depth discussion about the trial and its protocols.
A new trial:
There is another clinical trial in the works utilizing lifestyle intervention treatment to reverse memory loss. A published case studies report Reversal of Cognitive Decline: 100 Patients opened the path for this new study. Action now:
We don’t need to wait for a drug. There are methods to prevent and reverse Alzheimer’s and dementia. My mission is to spread this information in as many ways as possible – through these emails, my summit, my upcoming book Reversing Alzheimer’s, Marama assisted living, Solcere Medical Clinic, my course and coaching program, and more.
Thank you for joining me on this journey to find a better path to a world without dementia.
Warmly,
Dr. Heather Sandison
P.S. – Don’t forget to register today for my Reverse Alzheimer’s Summit 4.0 co-hosted with Dale Bredesen. The first talks kick off on Tuesday!
P.P.S. – There are many other conditions seeking participants for clinical trials, including my friend Dr. Terry Wahls. For many, being in a clinical trial provides additional motivation to make and sustain dietary improvements. Having one family member in a diet study often helps the whole family improve their diet.
Relapsing-remitting MS patients can apply for Dr. Wahls’ clinical trial “Efficacy of Diet on Quality of Life in Multiple Sclerosis (NCT05007483).” Learn more about the study here.
Dr. Wahls has also added three new populations to their online wellness program study (NCT05057676). They are looking for people with fibromyalgia, post-acute sequela of COVID 19 (also known as long COVID) or cancer-related fatigue in cancer patients whose cancer is in remission. This study evaluates whether access to an online wellness course leads to reduced symptoms and improved quality of life in these three conditions. Click on the links above to see if you are eligible.
